The name Charlotte conjures visions of femininity for me. I see strength, complimented by whimsy and touches of pink. I have always loved the name first as a city, then as the beautiful friend of Miss Carrie Bradshaw, and now as the joyful little girl I had the opportunity to photograph recently.
This Charlotte was a bit shy at first, having just woken up from a nap, but you could tell there was some spunk hiding somewhere under there. We were able to capture her smile, her bashfulness, her playful excitement, and her beauty.
She is going to have the kind of skin that woman envy and cameras love!
Her eyes are so telling and piercing. Although it was rare, when they would glint up to my camera the frame would fill with life.
Once we were done with the more traditional portraits we went exploring! We ran through the trees to go see the autumn colors. Her mother and I were trying to get her to play in the leaves, "crunch them with your boots," we said, "throw them into the air," we encouraged. Charlotte got quiet though. She gently picked up a leaf and got on her very tippy toes and tried to put it back into it's home, the tree branch. When it fell to the ground she turned to her Mom and said, "I want to put the leaves back".
I am always enchanted to see the world through a child's eyes and I am so glad that my lens is ever ready to capture these fleeting moments.
And I am also so very happy to RUN!
No, how about that way...
As our day drew to a close Charlotte was tiered and Mom and I told her what a wonderful job she did. We asked her what she wanted for dinner. She replied "Chocolate"..."What kind? Cake, Cupcakes, Brownies?" we asked..."No, just regular Chocolate". I guess I was right, Charlotte, a true feminine beauty.
