Words get to me...

Thank you everyone so much for your kind words for my Grandmother and for my post yesterday. It meant a lot to me and it meant A LOT to my family.

I love words...I always have. Poems, books and lyrics have always touched me. If a song has good lyrics it could have about any musicality and I will love it. Evan has gotten used to it now, but when we are in the car I love to point out the one stanza in a song that makes my heart melt. I will wait the whole song just to hear 5 words and I will often tear up because of those words. It usually goes from our normal banter to me yelling "wait, wait, it comes."

One of the ones that always gets me is DMB - Crash. The part that gets me is "You wear nothing but you wear it so well". The others I can think of are much sappier and much less fun.

Do you have any words like this?

There is a sculpture in Tempe, Arizona that is hidden off the beaten path. It is about 5 feet tall and kind of curls up into a point like an ice cream cone. It has a level swirl all the way around and children enjoy running up the swirl. The part that gets me is that this sculpture is covered in black and white mosaic tiles with small sayings or collections of words. There are also a few graphics, but it is mostly meaningful quotes or abstract words. Needless to say I could photograph this sculpture all day.

I would love to take a photo of someone's engagement ring along some of these words. I think it would be a very special experience to let an engaged couple pick out a few words and photograph her engagement ring alongside the word.

I might be a sap, but give me good writing and my soul shines.

That's a cool idea... Loved our chat yesterday. Sometimes I get wrapped up in the crap that is day to day & I don't realize how much I miss talking to you & how much I need to talk to someone who can relate.

And my current favorite song is "By Your Side" by Tenth Avenue North - the chorus gets me, every time.

I totally get the lyrics thing. Here's some of my favorites. (Most not sappy.)

1. In "Werewolves of London", SO many good lines, but I think my very favorite is when he goes "Hmph, Draw Blood." It's just funny. However, "I saw a werewolf drinking a pina colada at Trader Vick's....his hair was PERFECT" is my 2nd fave.

2. In "She's No Lady, She's My Wife",again, so many good ones but I'll go with "She sleeps beside me, ALMOST, every night."

3. The word "Fantabulous" in "Moondance" by Van Morrison.

4. American Idol reminded me of another long time favorite of mine this week. In "Come Together" by the Beatles, "He got feet down below his knees." FUNNY! Oh and "One and one and one is three." :)

5. Okay, here's a sentimental one...Sting singing "We'll Be Together" when he sings "I see you. and me. and baby makes three!"

6. Now a funny relationship one, "All Four Seasons" by my boyfriend Sting...actually, can't pick just one out. Just a funny song!

7. And if you don't know this song, download it immediately because it is the sweetest, most romantic, beautiful song in its way....."Romeo and Juliet" by Dire Straits. Oh to pick just one line? Impossible, but I'll just do it and say "You and me 'bout it?" The whole song is amazing.

8. Okay, here's a sentimental one for me as a Marine wife, especially as we head to Japan, and as I'm entering my 14th year of following my man....By the Dave Matthews Band, "Where Are You Going", the lyrics are "But I do know one thing is where you are is where I belong. Where you go is where I want to be." Ha! You didn't think I had it in me, huh? :)

9. And yes, I gotta agree that "Crash" is a sexy, sexy song. Great lyrics!

I'll stop FOR NOW. :) Love you honey. xo

Amanda- I miss you too. When I said I didn't want to hang up I meant it. I just wanted to drive over and have a cup of coffee...laugh and cry! : ) Soon! I do not know that song, so I will download it and I am sure I will love it.

Aunt Sue - You know you don't want to work Aunt Sue! This blog will give you another 15 minute excuse not to. So many of those songs are on my list - especially 2&3...and I have heard "Romeo and Juliet" by Dire Straits, but do not have it downloaded, so I will do so immediately! Love you!

I am going to start journaling my favorite songs, they go out of my mind so quickly.

And not when it first came out, but "Everybody Wang Chung Tonight" is such a fun, funny song. Seriously! And Lionel Richie's "All Night Long." :)

All Night Long used to be my favorite "Fountains of the Bellagio" song!
